The main job today was to get the boat level on her cradle. This is essential in order to do the interior fitting as well as for the waterline to be lasered on. The boat was lifted using a crane mounted on a truck in order to get her weight off of the cradle so that new bits of timber could be slid under where the current ones had collapsed, then plinths manufactered by us were placed under the keel which would make sure that she was level fore to aft. Then came the harder part, getting her level side to side which was done by measureing down from a set point on the deck on each side to the bottom of the cradle, when both sides had equal measurements she would be level. The tilt was changed by either shifting the crane or bracing lengths of steel and hammering wedges of wood in until she was level. Lastly the palms were pushed back underneath her and she was let back down to rest on them.
Jim was also working in the engine room fitting the watermakers to their brackets and attaching them in place.
